PTSA Buffet & Breakout Sessions

Come on out to the first PTSA Meeting of the 2016-17 school year!

This won’t be your average PTSA meeting – You won’t want to miss out!

We are planning to have breakout sessions at our upcoming “Buffet & Breakouts” PTSA Meeting on September 26, 2017.  Come enjoy a pasta dinner and learn about John Yeates Middle School.  You will even enjoy entertainment provided by the John Yeates Chorus.

Sessions are open to students, parents, siblings and guardians.  You may select as many as three workshops to attend, each workshop is twenty minutes and will run three times.

6:30pm Opening Remarks in auditorium

Session 1 – 6:45pm – 7:00pm

Session 2 – 7:05pm – 7:20pm

Session 3 – 7:25pm – 7:40pm

Recycling Club – First Meeting

The first Recycling Club meeting will be held on September 28th from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in Room 1.  In order to attend, a signed parent permission form must be returned to Mrs. Hayes (Room 1) or Ms. Rubash (Room 3).

Boys and Girls Basketball Tryouts

Basketball GoalAll 7th and 8th grade boys and girls interested in trying out for John Yeates Middle School basketball teams this year may begin signing up with Mr. Foster in Room 22.

Tryouts will be held the week of September 18th-22nd from 2:15 – 3:45 p.m. .  You must have transportation arrive promptly at 3:45 p.m. following tryouts.

Students MUST have a physical form on file by the date of tryouts.  No Exceptions.

Come out and join the Connections Club!

Want to be a part of a club that focuses on positive relationships with others and learning ways to make your world a better place?  Then Connections Club is for you!!!   

Our first meeting will be Thursday, September 14, 2017, after school in the media center.  If you’re interested, please pick up an application/permission form from Mrs. Bowden, Mr. Neighbours, or at the front desk, as you will need this to be completed by your parents or guardians in order to participate.  

Your ride must be here by 3:05, as transportation is not provided.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Bowden in Room 26 or Mr. Neighbours in Room 4.

Supply Lists and Orientation Night for All Grades

Directional orientation signOrientation for grades 6-8 will be held on Thursday, August 31 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Gym uniforms, agendas, and locks will be available for purchase.

JYMS 6th Grade Transition Night

keep-calm-because-6th-grade-rocks-6JYMS 6th grade transition night will be held on Wednesday, August 23 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  

All sixth-graders and their families are invited to learn the basics of middle school, tour the building and pick up schedules upon presenting Tdap verification.

Avoid the line to see the nurse by submitting your child’s shot record prior to August 23.  Fees for locks, gym uniforms and agendas may be paid during this time.
